BUDJ BIM NATIONAL PARK

Public BBQ

Budj Bim National Park showcases spectacular volcanic landscapes through its ancient lava formations. The campground offers exceptional facilities including hot showers, flush toilets, and fire places at each site. Multiple walking trails of varying difficulty explore the crater rim, lava canal, natural bridge, and mysterious lava caves—bring a proper torch as phone lights prove inadequate underground. The steep crater walk rewards hikers with views of fascinating lava tubes, while Lake Surprise offers easier terrain. Wildlife abounds with kangaroos, koalas frequently spotted. This geological wonderland holds deep spiritual significance, with the 6.5km lava canal walk providing both physical challenge and profound connection to ancient landscapes. The well-maintained campground suits various vehicles, though larger vans face turning limitations.
